If you’re into stunt riding and have been for awhile, than you’ll really appreciate this video. For those of you who do not know Matt Gorka, or never heard of him, it’s safe to say he’s one of the first stunt riders here in the U.S. back in the day to really start progressing on a world, elite level. He originally started out as a member of 1096, which was a stunt team based out of Michigan, and also consisted of Matt Blankstrom, also known as “Thew”. Thew was known for his acrobatics and was one of the first, if not the first to really take acrobatics to a new level. He was famous for the acid drop on to his tank, then doing a 360 spin. He later started riding with the Starboyz but hasn’t been seen since. Now, back to Gorka. Gorka was your prototype stunt rider, if there is such a thing. Chiseled, athletic, a pure Ken Doll type of guy. He wasn’t hurting on the lady side of things. We can assure you of that.

He was aggressive, but smooth, and innovative. He was really passionate about the sport, and dedicated. So dedicated in fact, he left his team and moved to Florida to be able to ride all year around. It might even be safe to say he was one of the first to slap dirt bike bars on his 900rr. At the time, many Europeans were doing it, so Matt must have taken note and given it a try. Well, from all accounts in this video, it paid off. The video has a publish date of 2007, but we’re thinking it was filmed earlier than that. We wanna say this was filmed around the 2003 or 2004 timeframe. Anywho, when this thing was posted, we remember being blown away.

Even watching it now will blow you away. From the pickup, his bike is straight up and down. The bike doesn’t appear to move even an inch the entire time. We’re not sure what the run-up is on it, but either way, to roll 900ft on a 900rr back in the day like that is just plain ridiculous! So take a few minutes and check out what this O.G. was doing before a lot of todays riders were still in diapers! Make sure and check the StuntrideForum to keep up with dates and events. As always , here at, we love to see action sports and everything associated with the industry.
